ABOUT GPN TEXAS
GPN Texas was founded in 2012 as a professional GIS organization incorporated in Texas, under the name URISA Texas.
The Texas Chapter of the Geospatial Professional Network (GPN) is the professional association of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) practitioners in Texas. GPN Texas is a nonprofi t 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to advance the effective and appropriate use of GIS and related information technologies to solve challenges throughout the state. We rebranded into GPN Texas in March 2025.

ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE AND EVENTS
The organization has experienced sustained growth in recent years, with increasing attendance at events, expanded engagement across the chapter email list, and greater participation in chapter operations. The chapter email distribution includes over 3,000 active GIS and geospatial professionals across Texas.
Chapter leadership and membership represent a diverse network of public and private sector professionals spanning geospatial, information technology, and related disciplines throughout the state.
GPN Texas is a four-time recipient of the GPN Chapter of the Year, winning in 2025, 2022, 2021 & 2017!
The chapter delivers a robust portfolio of professional, educational, and networking opportunities, including a monthly Speaker Series, 10–20 Mappy Hour networking events annually, and a range of educational workshops. Each of these events offers meaningful sponsorship opportunities.
